Jared Leto and the rest of his band 30 Seconds to Mars have a new video out for ?Kings + Queens?. The video features bicyclists cruising around LA. Jared went on his Twitter after the shoot, saying ?Shoot was insane and amazing. Just realized the first time we played KINGS+QUEENS together was up there overlooking LA. Fitting. ? After a two year battle to get their new album completed and released, it?s finally ready and the singer/actor couldn?t be more excited. Jared told MTV ?We spent two years of our lives working on that record, and it was us against the world. We didn?t have outside influence or help, we didn?t have a label, we had us, betting the farm, and pushing ourselves.?
Carrie Underwood hosted the 2009 Country Music Association Awards at the Sommet Center on Wednesday in Nashville, Tennessee. Carrie also performed that night, singing her new single ?Cowboy Casanova?. The 26-year old American Idol alum co-hosted the show with Brad Paisley. The two singers opened up the show by changing the lyrics to ?Mamas Don?t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys? to include a reference to Kanye West. It was a pretty hilarious moment. And honestly, I was half expecting the rapper to randomly show up when Taylor Swift won her awards. He would have never come out of there alive.
Rihanna is going to debut her music video for her single ?Russian Roulette? on 20/20 tonight while Chris Brown will be doing the same with his music video for ?Crawl? on the Wendy Williams Show. The two singers and former lovers both have spots on the Billboard Top 100 at the moment with the Barbadian babe?s collaboration with Jay-Z and Kanye West ?Run this Town? at number 7, and R&B douche at number 24 with ?I Can Transform Ya?. Some people aren?t surprised that fans are still buying Chris? albums, with one psychologist saying ?His fans will keep buying his albums because they want to feel like they are helping him. Supporting him through this tough time makes fans feel like they are a part of Brown’s inner circle.?
It seems that Lil Wayne?s new record is finally getting a release date. The rapper?s album ?Rebirth? was originally set to have gone out this past April. However, after many delays, it kept getting pushed back. Now, the so called rock oriented album will be hitting the stores this December 15th, just in time for the holidays! However, the album?s lead single ?Prom Queen? which was released back in January failed to get much popularity. That means that he needs to come out with a hot new single in the next couple of weeks to get some good promotion for the album.
If you missed out on Taylor Swift?s guest hosting gig on Saturday Night Live, you pretty much missed on one of the greatest episodes of the comedy show ever. The country singer sang and played guitar to ?Monologue Song (La La La)?. She killed it! Here are some sample lyrics: ?You might think I?d bring up Joe [Jonas], that guy who broke up with me on the phone, but I?m not gonna mention him in my monologue. Hey Joe, I?m doing real well. Tonight, I?m hosting SNL but I?m not gonna brag about that in my monologue. La la la. Ha ha ha. La la la.?; And if you?re wondering if I might be dating the werewolf from Twilight. Hey Taylor [Lautner]! (blows kiss, winks) But I?m not gonna comment on that in my monologue.?; and ?You might be expecting me to say something bad about Kanye [West] and how he ran up on stage and ruined my VMA monologue. But there?s nothing more to say cuz everything?s okay. I?ve got security lining the stage. It?s my SNL monologue.?
Britney Spears reportedly hit out in her hotel room this past weekend after she angered her fans at her concert the past week for lip synching. The fact that they expected her to sing live considering who she was is beyond me. All of Australia rallied against the pop singer upon landing in the country last week, criticizing her for charging loads of money for a concert that wasn?t live. And yet they still went to the show. Where?s the logic in the whole thing? If they didn?t like the fact that she doesn?t sing live, they shouldn?t have bought tickets. It?s not like she?s known for singing live.
Former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl has revealed that that he always knew that his Nirvana bandmate Kurt Cobain would not have a long life.
Grohl, 40, admitted that he had prepared himself for the eventuality.
He said: “There are some people that you meet in life that you just know that they are not going to live to be a 100 years old.
In some ways, you kind of prepare yourself emotionally for that to be a reality.”
But he admitted that, even so, Cobain’s suicide in 1994 still came as a shock to him, and that it was one of the worst moments of his life.
He said: “It was a terrible surprise. It was probably the worst thing that has happened to me in my life. I remember the day after that, I woke up and I was heartbroken that he was gone…?
Grohl, who is now the drummer in rock group Them Crooked Vultures, added: ?Usually, it takes something like that for people to appreciate life as a gift and you have to take advantage of the time that you have.
“Sometimes, you just can’t save someone from themselves.”
Miley Cyrus recently admitted that she?s actually never heard a Jay-Z song, referencing her current Top 40 hit, ?Party in the USA?, adding that she doesn?t really listen to pop music. I don?t think that the rapper?s music can be considered as pop but whatever. Miley pretty much bashed the song saying that it?s not even her style of music. She said ?I don’t know, I didn’t write the song, so I have no idea. Honestly, I picked that song because I needed something to go with my clothing line. I didn’t write it and ? I didn’t expect it to be popular, originally. It was just something that I wanted to do, and I needed some songs and it turned out for the best.?
Steven Tyler has quit Aerosmith, according to the group’s guitarist, Joe Perry.
The singer has said he is ready to work on solo material, and the rest of the band are now said to be considering their options.
Perry said: “Steven quit as far as I can tell. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don’t know for how long, indefinitely or whatever.”
Perry also tells the Las Vegas Sun that Tyler often refuses to talk to other band members.
He added: “He’s notorious for that. That’s one thing I’ve learned to live with. I try to overlook it. I like to pick my battles.
“Frankly, the last few months I’ve been wanting not to rock the boat. I don’t want him cancelling any more gigs. We really wanted to do these last four. We just kind of didn’t want to get him any more p***ed off, for whatever reason.”
The controversial American rapper is apparently broadening his horizons? probably due to boredom and the poor reactions to his latest release. Eminem will be going into the movie business and he?s starting out big: he?s going to be doing a horror movie called ?Shady Talez?? and get this, it will be in 3-D. Will this movie be about the terrors in store for all those who seek a career in rap and drugs with Eminem as the main example or just another splatter/monster movie? For Eminem?s sake, he?d better go with the first, otherwise he?s going to get splattered all over the monstrous scene of cinema.
Tokio Hotel took home the “Best Group” award at the MTV European Music Awards in Berlin beating out the likes of Black Eyed Peas, Jonas Brothers, Kings of Leon and Green Day. Bill, Tom, Georg and Gustav also rocked an epic performance of their international single “World Behind My Wall” complete with insane pyro and explosive stage effects. The track appears on the recently released Humanoid album.
Lady Gaga?s latest hit ?Bad Romance? debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 last week at number 9! That makes it the fifth Top 10 single in America for the pop princess. The singer?s hit ?Paparazzi? is still going strong at number 6 on the Hot 100 too! Lady Gaga is also at number 3 on the Digital Songs with 142,000 downloads of ?Bad Romance?. With that, she?s getting ever so close to reaching five number 1 singles from a single album. I have no doubt that it?s going to happen. We all just have to wait just a few more weeks, perhaps even just one.
Rihanna?s big interview with ABC News? Diane Sawyer aired last Thursday on Good Morning America and on Friday on 20/20. The Barbadian singer spoke quite candidly about her former relationship with R&B singer Chris Brown. Rihanna admitted that they were dangerous for each other, saying ?The more in love we became, the more dangerous we became for each other.? She also said that ?This happened to me? and it can happen to anybody.? And she has a point. Abuse is something that happens at a daily occurrence. It just so happens that her celebrity status brought the issue out at the forefront.
50 Cent bares his chiselled upper body in the ad for ?Power by 50 Cent?, the rapper?s new fragrance. When asked about the new scent, 50 said ?For me, power isn?t just something you learn on the street or in the boardroom, it?s a way of life. I really wanted to bottle up the rush it gives you so my fans can make it a part of their lifestyle.? His new fragrance has top notes of lemon leaves, black pepper, coriander and musk with notes of green citrus and a woody background. ?Power? is now available at Macy?s with prices ranging from $50.50 for the eau de toilette to $68.50 for a two-piece gift set.
Beyonce scooped three awards at the MTV Europe Music Awards at the ceremony to mark the tearing down of the Berlin Wall 20 years ago.
The singer was awarded the best female, best song for Halo, and the best video for Single Ladies [Put a Ring on It].
She told the audience: “I have to dedicate this award to all the other beautiful artists. Thank you MTV for this wonderful honour,” upon receiving her best female award.
Jay-Z, Beyonce’s hip-hop musician husband, won the best urban act category. He said: “I look forward to the day when all those walls come down.”
Beyonce stepped up after her husband’s speech and performed Sweet Dreams.
Eminem won best male act. He thanked his supporters in a video message.
Katy Perry hosted the prestigious event, which included a video tribute to the late king of pop, Michael Jackson.
It seems that Rihanna was somewhat of an unexpected guest at Mariah Carey?s Halloween party last weekend. Sources are saying that the two ladies refused to be photographed together and didn?t even speak for the whole night. A source said ?It was Mariah’s party, but Rihanna didn’t want to be seen with her. And Mariah was not going over to greet Rihanna. Mariah needed six guards to clear a path to the bathroom so her wings wouldn’t be dislodged.? The Barbadian singer partied with Ne-Yo and some friends in a booth while Mariah stuck close to hubby Nick Cannon in a VIP area. Are these the makings of a diva rivalry?
Dave Grohl has said the way to make it into the Foo Fighters is to “be able to have a drink or two”.
Grohl, 40, is the frontman of the US rock band Foo Fighters, and he told how the band first formed through the members’ love of alcohol.
The band’s drummer Taylor Hawkins used to drum with Alanis Morissette, and Grohl said: “That’s how I met him. We became drinking buddies before we decided to be in a band together.
“That’s how you make your way into the Foo Fighters; you don’t have to be a great musician, you just have to be able to have a drink or two.”
It was recently announced that the Michael Jackson documentary ?This is It? will remain in theaters through Thanksgiving weekend. In a press release, the chairman of Sony Pictures, Jeff Blake, explained ?In just 5 days, Michael Jackson?s THIS IS IT has become the highest grossing concert film of all time and we are elated by the response to this special film by fans, critics and moviegoers from all over the world. With this kind of global response, it?s clear that the motion picture deserves an extended run and we are going to do everything we can to make the film available to everyone who wants to see Michael Jackson?s THIS IS IT on the big screen.? Considering the weekend turn out, I think they are seriously over-estimating the public interest in the movie.
Taylor Swift doesn?t seem to be slowing down as the country singer officially has Billboard?s longest charting album of this century with her self-titled debut album. ?Taylor Swift? was first released in October 2006 and now in its 157th week in the Top 200 albums chart beating out previous record holder Nickelback. If the cutie?s first album has done this well, I can?t wait to see how well ?Fearless? ends up doing. I can just imagine it breaking even more records. Congratulations Taylor! You are truly one amazing talent. I don?t think us music fans will ever get to see another one like you in our lifetime.
It has been announced that Lady Gaga will be taking the stage at this year?s American Music Awards on November 22. The pop singer joins other performing acts such as Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry and Adam Lambert. I hope that she performs ?Bad Romance?. I am really loving that song! With the addition of Lady Gaga?s performance, it is bound to be quite the entertaining show this year. She always has the ability to steal the show with her one of a kind performances and crazy outfits. Plus, you can bet that she?s going to nab several awards.
We all know that the Pussycat Dolls are done and over with and it looks like the girls are ready to admit to it. Kimberly Wyatt recently explained to Chris Younie on The Hits Radio that the group has zero plans for another album. However, she gave some hope that it wouldn?t be the last that we?ve heard of the band, it just might not be the same girls. Kimberly said ?Here’s the thing. I think the Pussycat Dolls was always created as a brand, and it will always be that way. No matter what happens, the Pussycat Dolls will always be around.?
Joel and Benji Madden graced the fashion stakes at the Melbourne Cup in Australia today.
The A-lister twin brothers’ trilby-style hats, sneakers, jackets, T-shirts and low-riding dark jeans appeared on television footage amid the designer tulle, fuss and fragile fascinators.
More like bulls in a china shop, the Maddens got into the spirit, noting the day was all about the costume. Some 100,000 people showed up at Flemington Race Course while the rest of the nation stopped work to watch the $120million stakes from work, couch or the pub.
The Maddens were caught under the marquee saying they noted it was an occasion for a hat. “We noticed the ladies wear a hat and we, for some reason, considered ourselves ladies – so we wore a hat,” they said.
Commenting on a question about their footwear – sneakers without laces – they said their laces were drawn-on. They said: “All the latest fashions for all seasons you’ll see on the Madden brothers.”
Joel, who recently had a baby girl named Harlow with Nicole Richie, noted: “Ill buy my daughter a horse here. Why not? Bring her something home from Australia.”
Benji, meanwhile, said he would take a jockey, to which the pair exploded into laughter.
The singer fell for a prank orchestrated by Ellen Degeneres this Halloween. It seems that the comedian determined Taylor Swift to go to a fake dressing room where she was ready to pounce on the unsuspecting singer. The thing resulted in a funny little video that can be found on the internet showing Taylor Swift falling upon the bathroom floor where the scare took place. You?d think something like this would damage her popularity, but Taylor Swift probably got a few bonus points. Too bad they didn?t get Kanye West to do it? he might?ve bought himself a few extra points too.
Miley Cyrus? alleged stalker will not be facing any attempted stalking charges after a jury ruled that there wasn?t enough evidence to convict him. Mark McLeod was arrested twice over the summer when the Disney star was filming ?The Last Song? in Georgia. Not only did he make inappropriate comments to some of the singer/actress? fans but he also claimed that he was engaged to Miley who sent him secret messages on ?Hannah Montana?. However, the grand jury at the Chatham County State Court had the final say on what happens to him and they agreed that they couldn?t indict him due to the lack of evidence. Here?s to hoping that he doesn?t cause any more problems.
