Ashley Tisdale has just released her brand new single ?It?s Alright, It?s OK!? The track premiered earlier this morning live with Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM. Co-written by Swedish production team Twin, the song is a spunky break-up anthem about being single and in control of your life for the first time.
?I love break-up songs,? Tisdale says. ?Everyone can relate to those moments when you need to vent your frustration about a previous relationship. ?It?s Alright, It?s OK? is about how you need to stand up for yourself and not let someone walk all over you; it?s a message I wanted to get across to other girls.?
An accompanying video to ?It?s Alright, It?s OK? will premiere on MySpace?s on April 21st with feature support from such major online partners as AOL Music and Yahoo! Music, and MTV.com will premiere exclusive ?making of the video? footage the week of the single?s release. Tisdale stars in the video with actor Adam Gregory (the CW?s 90210), who plays her ex-boyfriend. The clip was directed by Scott Speer, who has helmed previous videos for Tisdale as well as those from Jordin Sparks and David Archuleta.
U2, arguably one of the greatest rock bands of all time, has teamed up with A-list production team Justice to bring fans a mind-altering remix of epic proportions. The pairing of super stars and super producers on ?Get On Your Boots,? the first single from U2?s No Line On The Horizon, can be heard exclusively on Stereogum.com.

New Kids On The Block are hitting the road again in support of their album The Block! Donnie, Jordan, Joey, Danny and Jon will kick off the ?Full Service Tour? on May 28th in Atlanta, playing shows through July 18th in Houston. Green Day have just released a behind-the-scenes look at their new video for ?Know Your Enemy.? The clip, while short, gives a glimpse into what?s in store for fans in the forthcoming video. The guy fell head over heals for Britney and the two reunited at Britney?s recent show in New Jersey and friends of John Sundahl the couple are now engaged and planning to make the relationship permanent.
Wait a minute how many times have we heard such similar things. I remember a few months ago before the start of her ?Circus? tour she met up with an Indian chorographer named Sandeep and the media made a dash to report him as her newest boyfriend. Where is he now? So with Britney there is a new fixation every week, we can forget this one too.
The singer who came to New York after her divorce from Guy Ritchie with whom she lived in London has apparently bought a new home there which is in British style and for which she paid no less than forty million dollars. A source said the following about Madonna?s new purchase: “The townhouse is perfect for Madonna. She’s trying to recreate London in New York City, and this is in the style of a London townhouse.” That?s a lot of money to throw out just for the sake of similarity to London. Does all of this give up the slightest hint that Madonna is not at all over her relationship with Guy Ritchie? No, it couldn?t be! After all, who doesn?t buy a forty million-dollar home every now and again?
Singer Beyonce is so fed up with the imposters pretending to be her on Twitter she is reportedly planning to take legal action.
It is claimed her sister Solange Knowles, who is a fan of the site and regularly updates her own page, alerted her superstar sister to a number of fake pages posting messages pretending they are from her.
But the star is now planning to take legal action, according to British newspaper The Sun, as she is fed up with the imposters.
One page on the social networking site has 33,994 followers with another offering “You daily dose of Mrs. Carter” as her husband Jay Z’s real name is Shawn Corey Carter.
The drama over at American Idol between judges Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi seems to have no end. Kara was brought in to allow Paula?s leave from the show to be a smooth transition but it?s now being said that Paula doesn?t want to leave anymore. A friend of Paula told OK! Magazine ?Paula is doing everything necessary to sign another contract.? Another source said that ?Paula wants to remain on the program as long as Simon is involved.? With Paula refusing to let go, Kara may end up getting the axe especially with how she doesn?t really mesh well with the other 2 judges when cameras aren?t rolling.
Executives at Universal have just about had it with Amy Winehouse. The label threw away lots of money so the singer could return to St. Lucia and finally record her promised follow up to ?Back to Black?, an album that the label has been waiting years for Wino to record. They had about enough of her antics when they found out that instead of dedicating time to the new record, Wino has been in the studio with Damon Albarn?s virtual rock project Gorillaz. A source said ?Imagine how they felt when they realized she had agreed to work with Gorillaz? They couldn’t believe it. It’s an unnecessary distraction. They think she should invest all her energy in her own music. She should be knuckling down and delivering the goods.?
Justin Timberlake isn?t the only one flying commercial these days. It seems that the six time Grammy winner and a lot of other celebrities share a very special emotional bond only consecrated high among the clouds while flying with Southwest Airlines. It seems that in the crisis state that the economy is in, more and more celebrities are trading in their costly private jets for a more economically-friendly way to travel. And hey, they get free peanuts! Everyone from Justin to Brad Pitt to Lady Gaga to Paula Abdul to William Shatner and even to Jessica Alba, has flown with Southwest.
Another American Idol alum has gotten himself a record deal as last year?s third runner up, Jason Castro, has signed on with Atlantic Records to release his debut album later this year. Jason was able to reach the top spot on iTunes last year with his rendition of ?Over the Rainbow? after performing it on stage. His upcoming album will even feature tracks written by current Idol judge Kara DioGuardi and Grammy award-winning songwriter John Fields as well as a slew of other song writing giants in the industry. It sounds to me that they really want to push him. I hope he doesn?t bomb.
The rappers arraignment for a few misdemeanors was recently postponed for 20th of May this year. Kanye West had this little legal issue because of a not so friendly encounter with a paparazzo at Los Angeles airport last September. Now it?s not that the paparazzo actually had any amount of ?innocent victim? status here but Kanye West is apparently getting away with this indefinitely isn?t he? Still, it is a rather interesting situation: is it really of that much morality to defend one of the flesh eaters against the would-be rapper genius Kanye West? Probably not? after all, Kanye West is probably very happy being a gay fish now, he won?t do any more harm.
Billy Cyrus promoted the heck out of his new album all over the place this past week but how far did the self-promoting get the one hit wonder? Absolutely nowhere. Hits Daily Double has predicted that Miley?s dad?s album ?Back to Tennessee? will only sell 10,000 to 15,000 copies in its opening week. It looks like Billy Ray?s album plug disguised as an intro to Miley?s performance at the recent ACMs didn?t help sales one bit. I can?t believe he honestly thought that he had a chance at a music career past ?Achy Breaky Heart?. Their family is just filled with delusional wannabes.
The train wreck otherwise known as Lily Allen has been tearing through North America with no intentions of slowing her hard partying ways down. One concertgoer just tattled on Lily?s bad behavior at her recent show in Denver, Colorado. The fan said ?We found her Twitter tix and they included VIP passes. After the show (which was incredible), we waited around for the meet and greet. Got down there only to find a totally wasted, totally incoherent Lily who bailed after five minutes. Ridiculous and really, really disappointing. By the way, they told everyone waiting to see Lily that there would be no photos or autographs. No photos? OF COURSE NOT! On her way out of the room, she couldn’t even make it up the stairs, she was so wasted. Now, what publicist would want a photo of that shit floating around on the interwebs?!?
Last week, some businessman in New Jersey filed for divorce from his wife Ann Kelly and stated in court documents that the reason was because she was having an affair with Bruce Springsteen. It?s not much of a surprise because the rocker has been rumored to have had multiple affairs in the past. Reports even say that he hooked up with his current wife, Patti, while he was still married to his first wife, Julianne Phillips. In efforts to stop infidelity rumors, Bruce reaffirmed his love for his wife by posting a message on his official website, though he didn?t deny having the affair. Now, Ann is speaking out and claiming that the two are just friends. However, an insider claims something different ?There have been rumors going around the area for more than a year that they had gotten way too close after meeting at a local gym.? So what?s the truth really?
Britney Spears’s recent stunt at the GM Place in Vancouver should be taken as a pitch for the anti-smoking campaign. Britney Spears walked out of the stage right after she started her Circus Show. She was dressed in a ringleader costume with matching whip but when she removed the jacket she was clad only in a sparkling bra with bare midriff. The fans started to go wild and chanted “Britney! Britney” when the stage went dark. After a while it was announced that the performance will resume after the air clears since it is no longer comfortable and safe for the performers.
After a lot of booing and howling for 30 minutes Britney Spears appeared and sang “If U Seek Amy” as well as “Me Against the Music”. Britney closed the Circus show with “Womanizer” but not before telling the Vancouver crowd to stop smoking weed. That proved to be a very high profile campaign pitch not only against smoking but against smoking weed. Way to go Britney Spears!
As was perhaps expected from his performance two nights ago, the American Idol contestant had to pack up his bags and head home, even though the decision apparently came pretty hard. Last night Scott MacIntyre again tried to save himself by doing Survivor?s ?The Search is Over?, but that was to little avail. However, it does seem that two of the judges cast their vote in favor of Scott MacIntyre and the other two against. Eventually, Simon Cowell broke the tie and said: “‘Scott, someone’s got to make a decision here, and I’m going to say it’s the competition.” Well, it seems the sword has been dropped and it fell right on Scott MacIntyre?s neck. Still, he did make it pretty far? just not far enough.
The American Idol contestant has once again astounded both the audience and the judges with his performance. For last night, Adam Lambert chose Tears for Fears? ?Mad world? and he supposedly made the best impression. Even the Earl of Exigency, Simon Cowell, showed his appreciation of Adam Lambert?s performance by giving him a standing ovation. Looks like we have a possible winner, that is, if he doesn?t manage to screw it up by the end? still, Adam Lambert can probably pull it off if he keeps coming on with these neat little surprises and impresses the right people. He will be a most valuable asset to the industry.
In a US federal court, Coldplay has denied any similarities between Joe Satriani?s ?If I Could Fly? and their hit ?Viva La Vida?, fighting the guitar icon?s December copyright infringement lawsuit. Adding arrogance to their being douche bags, the British band also claimed that Satriani?s piece ?lacks originality? and should therefore receive no copyright protection at all. Satriani?s lawyer said that the band?s response is typical and that he felt like the situation could have been handled without legal action. In other words, things would have not gotten ugly if it wasn?t for the band turning out to be made of complete divas.
The musician from Fall Out Boy who will be playing a couple of festivals this summer in the UK is considering taking his 4-month old son Mowgli with him on tour. Pete Wentz said: “Would I take my baby to a festival? We’ll see. I wouldn’t mind him seeing the headliners Radiohead at all.” A four month old baby is getting to go to a music festival? Is Pete Wentz out of his freaking mind? What?s that little guy going to understand from all the noise and bustle around him? This is not what people should be doing to expose their children to music. Hopefully Pete Wentz will realize this before he starts touring or little Mowgli might have a very rotten summer.
Heidi Montag?s latest single may not be bad but that doesn?t mean that all of my doubts are gone. ?The Hills? star is currently recording a new album and she wants people to take her craft seriously. Heidi said ?I just pretty much live and breathe in the studio? I’ve never had an album. This is my first album. I’ve wanted to do music since I could talk? This is the biggest dream of my life.? She even went on to compare herself to Lil Wayne saying ?I just love making fun music, like Lil Wayne. He’ll do a rock song, and then he’ll do a rap song. I get to choose my own songs. It’s something I love doing. I’m having so much fun doing it, and it’s not too much pressure. It’s more on my own.? She even said that she would love to record a duet with the rapper ? as well as Spencer Pratt.
Simon Cowell has insulted more American Idol wannabees than his three other co-judges combined. However, Simon Cowell got a dose of his own medicine after insulting AI finalist Megan Joy for her performance and choice of song. Hats off to Megan Joy for having the guts to tell Simon Cowell that she does not care about his judgments because she liked her performance and it seems the fans liked it too.
To get back at Megan Joy for smacking him right in the face several feet away Simon Cowell said “if you say you didn’t care then neither do we” sending Megan Joy to the backburner while asking her to sing her swan song. Megan Joy said she would not get back what she given the chance but admitted she did not expect Simon Cowell to be upset by her comment. Megan Joy, who appeared in The Ellen DeGeneres show for airing next week, said she cares about the show but not about Simon Cowell’s opinion. Simon Cowell has finally found his match!
The American Idol contestant got a real run for his money last night. Even though it was Megan Joy who eventually had to go home, Matt Giraud was the victim of a very naughty prank by host Ryan Seacrest which recommended that Matt Giraud take a seat and allowed the poor guy to head toward the bottom three? only to direct him back to the safe zone. For shame! I mean seriously? couldn?t have anyone thought of something more devious for the show. What kind of ratings are they expecting to get anyway with these lame pranks? They should take an example from colleagues at South Park who actually showed real balls at the beginning of season 2.
