David Archuleta recently went on an episode of ‘Hannah Montana’ as a guest star. In addition to his so-called acting, the American Idol season 7 runner up also sang a song with Disney Channel starlet Miley Cyrus. I wonder how this whole deal came about. I didn’t really think that they run in the same circles or that even their people run in the same circles. I just hope that Miley wasn’t able to get her grubby little hands into little David like she was able to do when Nick Jonas and the rest of the Jonas Brothers were guests on the show. The mere thought gives my nightmares, nightmares.
If you watch American Idol and follow the talk online, you have an idea that Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey are the favourites to win. However, iTunes projects a different outcome if some download numbers that weren’t supposed to be shown can be used as a predictor of who gets voted off. According to The New York Post “a glitch in the Apple software allowed fans a glimpse at which contestants are selling the most “Idol” download.” Surprisingly, Danny wasn’t in the top 2. Kris Allen actually tops Danny in the download department and even in the Twitter buzz. It looks like it’s between Allison Iraheta and Matt Giraud on who will be voted off tonight.
Singer Chris Brown is close to striking a plea deal, according to a new report.
Brown is facing two felony charges for allegedly beating his then girlfriend and singer Rihanna on February 8.
A new court hearing is scheduled for this week when the parties will set a date for Brown’s preliminary hearing.
He is charged with assault likely to cause great bodily injury and making criminal threats.
However, Brown signed a waiver and is not expected to be in court for the hearing.
But sources close to the case have told Radaronline.com that ‘progress has been made’ on a plea deal.
Even so, that source insists there are still issues to be worked out and a deal is ‘close, but not imminent’.
The source added that barring a last-minute breakthrough it is unlikely a deal will be announced in court this week but both sides have moved closer together.
It is still uncertain what is preventing a deal from being closed by the District Attorney’s office and Brown’s attorney Mark Geragos.
If no deal is reached and the case progresses to the preliminary hearing stage, the case against Brown will be presented to a judge including evidence such as photographers taken of Umbrella singer Rihanna shortly after the alleged incident, showing her fact bruised and beaten.
Here’s something to get the split up rumors going again – Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole is temporarily splitting off from the group to work on her solo career. She will, however, be joining the rest of the group on their upcoming UK tour. A spokesman for the group confirmed that they will be taking a break to pursue various solo endeavors from “music to acting to beauty to fashion”. Earlier this year however, Girls Aloud signed a record deal for three new albums, including one to be released on fall 2010 so they’re really not splitting up. There’s no official word on who Cheryl will be working with or when to expect her solo album though.
Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry were spotted together in Barbados last week. 24-year old Katy and 27-year old Kelly were among the stars that were in town to perform at Chum FM’s 24th anniversary celebration at Harbour Lights on Bay Street. 21-year old Barbadian native Rihanna was seen cheering for the two singers in the audience. Rihanna and Katy were also seen hanging out on the beach. I wonder what it would be like to have these three very talented singers collaborate on a song. I bet that it would be wonderful. Having them on a collaboration would be like a dream for me.
The Britain’s Got Talent Judges were both blown away by the 48-year-old singing sensation but one has been left less than impressed by her reaction to new-found fame.
Simon Cowell has called Boyle’s dramatic change in appearance “unnecessary” while Piers Morgan called it an “improvement”.
Cowell said: “I think what matters is the person inside. I genuinely don’t care how she looks.”
“First of all, she’s a woman. Here’s somebody who’s now one of the most famous people in the world with a lot of people saying you don’t look very good.
“I don’t think it’s necessary though because I think what matters is the person inside, not how she looks now.
“I just want her to take this opportunity, sing fantastically and make the most of the biggest opportunity she’s been given in her life. And I genuinely don’t care about how she looks.”
Morgan said he’s pleased with the easier-on-the-eye look.
“She’s like me – improving with her looks every day,” he said.
“I say good luck to her. If she wants to stay the same or have a nice haircut, cut her eyebrows, wear some better clothes, what woman in the world, if you go from anonymity to becoming the most photographed person on the planet, wouldn’t go and have a new haircut?”
Morgan added that he feels fans will still be crazy over her performances – as long as she doesn’t go too far and get plastic surgery.
He said: “As long as there’s no plastic surgery and no Simon Cowell teeth, then I think we’ll all be comfortable with it.”
Beyonce has said she was stunned that people believed a hoax clip of her singing out of tune was really her.
The Crazy in Love star came under fire when the altered audio recording hit the internet.
It was picked up by popular US radio “shock jock” Howard Stern and soon spread online.
She said: “I knew it was a joke. I knew it was supposed to be silly. Something like that I don’t even take seriously. I thought it was hilarious.
“The craziest thing was journalists were asking me about it when they hadn’t even listened to it. If you had heard it, it was obviously a hoax!”
The clip featured Beyonce seemingly screeching along to her hit If I Were A Boy.
Her father, Mathew Knowles, dismissed it as a fake. But some fans believed it was real and began to doubt the chart star’s vocal abilities.
Beyonce, 27, told a US newspaper: “More than anything, it’s amazing that someone can do something so obviously funny, and have the whole world take it the wrong way.”
Art student Matthew Zeghibe later came forward and confessed to the scam – admitting he too was amazed that people took it seriously.
It seems that Kara DioGuardi is really fighting a losing battle by still staying on the judges table on American Idol. Paula Abdul’s thoughts on Kara have been very publicized and it seems that Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell just got theirs on air. During last week’s performance show after Kris Allen’s performance, Randy tried to weigh in only to be blocked by Kara’s comments. The looks that passed between Simon and Randy could not hide their disdain for the newbie. And it doesn’t stop there. Sources say that during breaks, Kara usually goes off to catering or just sits all by her lonesome at the table while the other judges flirt with the audience.
Rihanna is jumping back into her work as in just a few weeks, the singer will be performing a concert in Dubai. Not only that, but reports are also saying that the Barbadian babe is planning a massive North American tour for the fall. They say that the tour will begin in September but many details are still being discussed. They’re still talking about who’s going on tour with her and it looks like it will be an all girls tour this time. Keyshia Cole and Ciara are both said to be in negotiations to join Rihanna on tour. A source insists that “Rihanna wants strong women to join her. This is a ‘women empowerment’ type of tour.”
Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle could be set to sing with her idol Elaine Paige after the singer said they “should record a duet”.
Susan, 47, has become a worldwide hit after her performance of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables on the show. On the show, Susan was asked who she would like to become as successful as, and she replied Elaine Paige.
But now Elaine, 61, has said she is also a fan of Susan and they should sing a song together.
Elaine said: “I just have to mention Susan Boyle. Now ever since Susan’s appearance on Britain’s Got Talent, my inbox has been flooded with emails.” She added: “It seems that her performance really has captured the hearts of everyone who saw her, me included I have to say. I don’t know, perhaps we should record a duet.
Elaine also had a message for Susan. She said: “Susan – your performance is proof that Britain really does have talent and you are a role model, my dear, for everyone out there who has a dream.”
She added on her BBC Radio Two show: “Good on you and many congratulations. And I shall continue to watch and I hope that you get to the final. I wish you every possible success.”
Last Wednesday was the end of the line for American Idol Anoop Desai and Lil Rounds. Two American Idol hopefuls were sent home following after the judges saved Matt Giraud from elimination last week. Lil Round however showed she was worthy to stay on after she sang Chaka Khan’s “I’m Every Woman” for her disco number week. Paul Abdul, who said Lil Round should have sung that way last week, said that was a classy way to go for Lil Rounds.
Lil Rounds sang her farewell song nicely that even Simon Cowell said he remains a massive fan of Lil Rounds. Anoop Desai, who sand Donna Summer’s “Dim All The Lights” was however disappointed when he was told he was going to leave the show. However, he said he was looking forward to his Chapel Hill hometown. Simon Cowell criticized Anoop Desai’s performance saying it was mediocre.

GREEN DAY LAUNCH FIRST NORTH AMERICAN TOUR IN OVER THREE YEARS!
MULTI-PLATINUM BAND HIT THE ROAD IN SUPPORT OF NEW ALBUM, 21ST CENTURY BREAKDOWN, TO BE RELEASED WORLDWIDE ON FRIDAY, MAY 15TH, 2009
April 20, 2009 — Burbank, CA — Reprise Records’ Grammy®Award winning rock band Green Day have announced that they will hit the road for their first proper tour of the United States and Canada in more than three years beginning July 3rd in Seattle, WA. The first leg of the tour will cross North America through the summer and finish up with two shows in Los Angeles on August 26th.
Green Day are touring in support of their long-awaited eighth studio album 21st Century Breakdown, which will be released globally by Reprise Records on Friday, May 15th, 2009. Singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tre Cool have been at work writing, arranging, and recording 21st Century Breakdown since early 2006 with producer Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins). The first single, “Know Your Enemy” was released to radio and digital retailers on April 16th.
Green Day recently performed 21st Century Breakdown in its entirety during a series of warm-up club shows for hometown fans in the Bay Area. In its review of a show at Oakland’s Fox Theater, Rolling Stone commented that the band, augmented by guitarists Jason White and Jeff Matika, and keyboardist Jason Freese, had the “Quadrophenia-like hang of 21st Century Breakdown’s classic rock melodies and lifetime-punk drive down solid” and that the album is “rock opera in which the rock always comes first.” “21st Century Breakdown is Green Day’s best album,” the reviewer concluded, “and at the Fox, they proved that the rock opera can be as punk as a Clash 45.”
21st Century Breakdown is Green Day’s first studio album since 2004’s two-time Grammy Award-winning punk-rock opera American Idiot, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, spawned five hit singles, and went on to sell more than 12 million copies worldwide.

The Queen of Pop’s rep Liz Rosenberg gave a statement to Us Weekly saying “The accident occurred when the horse Madonna was riding was startled by paparazzi who jumped out of the bushes to photograph the singer, who was visiting friends on Eastern Long Island over the weekend. Madonna will be having further tests and will continue to remain under observation by doctors.” Madonna’s manager also commented on the accident saying “Madonna’s accident today was caused by the paparazzi. They spooked the horse she was riding. These guys don’t know when to stop!!
What’s the one thing that could really make Simon Cowell leave American Idol? The cynical judge told The Hollywood Reporter that he has no interest in being on the show if it’s not number 1. “Being No. 1 is verging on an obsession with me. I don’t like being No. 2. I don’t mind when you start at No. 10 — people don’t always go on as No. 1 — and you’ve got somewhere to go. But if you’re at the point you’ve reached it, of course you want to stay there.” However, he also insisted that he’s not going to sign a new 5-year contract saying “The idea that for the next five years, I’d be doing exactly what I’ve been doing for the past five years … the thought is just too depressing. I’d go nuts, bored out of my mind. You have to evolve, you have to change. I like the challenge of launching something new.” So what’s the real plan?
