Who the heck came up with this stupid idea? It?s being reported that Chris Brown and Rihanna are in the midst of recording a duet for the alleged woman beater?s new album. There have been no confirmations of the duet from either of their camps but there is word that the Pussycat Dolls and Ludacris record producer, Polow Da Don, has been working diligently on the track with Rihanna and Chris in a Santa Monica studio for the past few days. I hope that this isn?t true. If it is, I only have one thing to ask. Why is Rihanna doing this?
Britney Spears has released her new music video for her single ?If U Seek Amy?. The controversial song is the third single to be released from her album ?Circus?. The track was co-written and produced by famed producer Max Martin, who also provided the classic Britney hits ??Baby One More Time? and ?Oops!? I Did It Again?. Just like her videos for ?Womanizer? and ?Circus?, Britney is still the hot mama that she is in her new video. I wonder if the video will be received with the same amount of controversy as the single itself. I hope not. It?s too hot of a video to just get censored or aired only when the kids are asleep.
Tickets for the comeback and probably farewell gigs recently went on sale online and were reportedly sold within hours of it opening but now those same tickets are exchanging hands at a whopping $10,000 per ticket.
Last week the former king of pop announced July dates for his stage comeback to be held at the famous O2 Arena in London. More than one million people registered to buy tickets and with minutes all of the tickets were snapped up by fans. Seeing the overwhelming response Michael has extend the residency until September meaning the residency run has been more than doubled.
Is this a comeback and farewell show or trying to make up for lost time and earnings, there have been numerous reports time and again about his ill health so if he cannot go past say 15 days of performances and cancels the remaining shows has this man got the resources to repay fans the ticket cost. I completely doubt it.
This American Idol wild card?s entrance and overall performance was described as being ?a bit over the top?, but Matt Giraud didn?t get intimidated by that, in fact he commented: “I was singing for my life…if I go over the top a little bit, that’s alright.” Matt Giraud?s comment is really interesting? gets me thinking of Simon Cowell waiting in the judges box with a big, bloody axe in his hands and a look on his face like ?Go on, give it your best shot!?. He even criticized Matt Giraud?s choice of clothes, but the contestant commented: “Who takes fashion advice from Simon anyway?” Even if it was supposedly intended as a joke, the axe will most likely fall.
U2.com today confirms that the U2 360?? tour will open at the Nou Camp Stadium in Barcelona on 30th June. The U2 360?? It turns out that the sequenced telephone number for the 13th performer is already in use by a phone sex company. American Idol only owns twelve numbers, 1-866-IDOLS-01 through 1-866-IDOLS-12, and the porn company snatched up 1-866-IDOLS-13. Also, Ryan Seacrest hinted at a changed rule on the elimination show. Simon Cowell did one better by saying that it involves the judges. I?m thinking that while America gets to ?pick? the bottom performers, it will be the judges who will do the eliminating. Stay tuned to tonight?s elimination to find out for sure.
The singer who was recently beaten half to death by her boyfriend Chris Brown is slowly getting back to making music. Rihanna?s producer had this to say about her getting back in the studio: “She’s really just easing back into it. Just a couple of ideas here and there over the last couple of weeks. It’s coming out good. She’s really going in the same direction. She always brings her best efforts every time she steps into the stage or the studio. Her next album will eclipse what she’s done before, so it’s going to be hot.” Of course it?s going to be hot because now Rihanna has some new steamy experiences to sing about. But then again, if you sing about personal struggles or experiences the music doesn?t sell so why do it? Let Rihanna compose songs about the same old, pointless themes that have been plaguing pop music for what seems to be forever? and get big bucks for them.
Headbanger’s Blog has just premiered the new MASTODON video, “Divination.” The epic clip was helmed by Roboshobo, who also directed the video for “All Nightmare Long” from Metallica.

Singer-songwriter Kate Voegele is gearing up for the May release of A Fine Mess, the highly anticipated follow-up to her 2008 debut album, Don?t Look Away (MySpace/Interscope). Voegele recorded the album in Los Angeles with producer Mike Elizondo (Rihanna, Maroon 5, Pink).
The 22-year-old has been racking up frequent flier miles of late, jetting back and forth between L.A. and Wilmington, North Carolina, where she?s also shooting new episodes of the CW Network?s hit TV series ?One Tree Hill.? This season sees Voegele reprising her role as singer-songwriter Mia. She made headlines last year by performing several songs on the show, all from Don?t Look Away.
In their year-end issue, Billboard magazine spotlighted the 10 biggest film and television placement/appearances of 2008 and put Voegele?s involvement with ?One Tree Hill? at No. 1. Wrote Billboard Sr. Editor Ann Donohue, ?There?s getting a song placed in a prime-time show and then there?s getting cast in that show to play your own music and have the show?s creator write storylines for you inspired by your songs. Such was the case for Kate Voegele??.
The new season of ?One Tree Hill? will see Voegele giving audiences sneak previews of songs from the upcoming album, beginning with the March 16th episode, when she will premiere a brand-new track titled ?Manhattan From The Sky.?

The singer thinks that the troubled Amy Winehouse is ?hardcore?. Adele said this about the singer of ?Rehab?: “I think Amy is hardcore. She is a true phenomenon. When Amy was big in America, me and Duffy were blowing up in England, and I think it made the journey over a bit smoother for us.” How can you not consider Amy Winehouse to be hardcore? The guitarist from Oasis has recently boasted about his no-limit credit card. This is what Noel Gallagher said: “I don’t mean to be fucking rude, but I do own a black Amex card that has unlimited credit and cannot be denied anywhere. Chris Brown?s team is apparently working on overdrive to salvage his sinking career. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Chris and his alleged victim Rihanna are set to co-author a book about abuse and go on a talk show tour to speak directly to their fans and the general public. Other things on their things to do includes Chris Brown?s telling of his increasingly abusive behaviour toward Rihanna and partnering with clinical experts in the field to add credibility to their counselling efforts. A close source to Chris Brown?s camp said ?Obviously this is a public relations campaign, but it only will work if there’s genuine healing, contrition and a path to preventing future problems. ? It’s another example of trying to turn a bad situation into something good ? where people can learn to change habits.?
Miley Cyrus was on the JohnJay and Rich radio show in Arizona last week where she recounted a cold shoulder graced upon her by Radiohead during the Grammys. The Hannah Montana star begged her manager for an introduction but the band blew her off saying ?Yeah, we don’t really do that? which prompted her to leave the show all together. She said ?I’d already texted all my friends, we were all freaking out. This is someone who I like would have cried to [have met]. Stinkin’ Radiohead!? It looks like everything is not so peachy keen between the Pussycat Dolls and the head of their record label, Jimmy Iovine. Basically, the Dolls want to take their backup dancers on the road with them for their opening gig for Britney Spears? ?Circus? tour. Unfortunately, Iovine gave the girls a harsh lesson in reality and economics. When the girls pleaded for the dancers to come along, Iovine responded with ?We can’t afford it. I’m sorry its hard enough right now with the album not selling that’s why we did jai ho and re releasing the album. And we want to be able to keep the whole thing going at this level its not a choice its a reality.?
Barely a month after Rihanna went home to her native Barbados to seek solace from her family and she is at is again. Rihanna’s father is worried that something is controlling his daughter. Ronald Fenty, Rihanna’s father, said he and the rest of the family could not get in touch with Rihanna right after her rumored reconciliation with boyfriend Chris Brown after she accused him of beating her last February 8.
Chris Brown, who met with Rihanna at Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ $20 million home earlier this week, has been charged with two felonies of assault and criminal threats despite the rumored reconciliation. Ronald Fenty said he belies Rihanna is being forced to “not speak” with her family, including him, her mom, and even her brother. Somebody has a stranglehold on Rihanna, Robert Fenty said. They could not even call her on her old cellphone. Not even through her email as she has allegedly changed it also. Robert Fenty said Chris Brown is a little immature for her daughter but said he is in the hands of the court now.

British band Oasis have said that it is because of China that they have cancelled their China concert in what would have been the band?s first ever concert in that country and they believe that the reason behind China blocking their show is that lead singer Noel Gallagher took part in a free concert in Tibet in 1997.

That?s the least you can expect from China, they want every person entering China to have words of praise for their regime or you are not welcomed. And that really shows that the Beijing Olympics were a complete farce on the world community showing how independent the people of that country are.
Oasis is scheduled to tour South Korea and Japan as well but there have never been such incidents in that country. I think the Chinese government thought that Oasis would be conducting their show in a village were people would be astonished to see foreign visitors and that would lead to revolt, ha ha!
