Given that established designers like Vera Wang are turning their backs at NYC Fashion Week tents, it?s surprising to learn that Justin Timberlake?s vanity fashion line, William Rast? will be showing at Bryant Park next month. I guess he?s taking advantage of less competition. Unfortunately for fans of Justin?s music, his reps say to not expect a concert at the show. JT is scheduled to be present at the show but there will be no performance. I wish he would just stop pretending and just give the people what they want. I doubt they will be going to his show to see clothes. People will go there just to see Justin.
Jordin Sparks hit the red carpet in a beautiful pleated blue strapless dress at the 2009 People?s Choice Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium last week in Los Angeles. The 19-year old American Idol champ and Chris Brown picked up the award for Favorite Combined Forces also known as collaborations. The two young singers beat out collaborations by Madonna and Justin Timberlake, and Natasha Bedingfield and Sean Kingston. Youngsters rule the airwaves! Who would have thought that Jordin can actually beat Madonna? It just goes to show that American Idol does have magic. I can?t speak for the fallen idols though.

Each fan now has the opportunity to create their own music video for ?Light It Up,? have it selected by the band and become one of three videos placed on their YouTube page. The BPI, the UK record labels? body, today announced the exciting news that the mighty U2, one of the world?s biggest bands, will perform their brand new single ?Get On Your Boots? live at The BRIT Awards 2009 with MasterCard. This highly anticipated annual event takes place on Wednesday 18 February at London?s Earls Court.
This year?s BRIT Awards, the premiere event in the British music calendar, is shaping up to be one of the strongest yet, with U2 confirmed, Pet Shop Boys being honoured with the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award and further intriguing live performances to be announced over the coming weeks. Hana Pestle is a self-proclaimed Twilight fanatic. The nineteen year old singer/songwriter from Billings, Montana believes she has the perfect song for the next movie and has started a movement to get ?Need? in the forthcoming New Moon. The hauntingly beautiful track was one of her first compositions written at only fifteen years old in 2004. It was produced /co-written for her album by Ben Moody (co-founder of Evanescence) and Michael “Fish” Herring with string arrangements by David Campbell and piano performance by David Hodges (Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry). Leona Lewis is set to pen an autobiography recounting her rise from being a Pizza Hut waitress to X Factor winner and chart topping musician. When her first album ?Spirit? debuted, it immediately hit #1 on the charts in America, becoming the first British woman to do so. In addition to retelling her life story, the book will also feature over 100 new photographs taken by photographer Dean Freeman. The book will be published by Hodder & Stoughton, who also collaborated with David Beckham and Dean Freeman. The release of the book is scheduled to coincide with the drop of Leona?s sophomore album.

Let?s see Christina Aguilera try to rip that off of the ?Just Dance? singer. Christina may have the resources to copy Lady Gaga?st stylings but I doubt she?s going to be able to copy the success. I guess Lady Gaga has gotten some sort of revenge over her new rival. And oh what a revenge it is. Take that Christina! Not even your identity thieving ways can take that away from her.

Britney Spears made a lot of resolutions this past year so are you wondering what the 27-year old?s resolution is for this year? The recovered pop princess said ?I have to stop biting my nails!? if that?s what her main goal is for 2009, I think she?s a bit delusional. Though it seems that she may not keep that resolution though as she added ?I end up breaking [resolutions]. It’s hard. I would like to stop worrying so much, because I worry all the time.? Once again, the record features his most frequent collaborator Justin Timberlake. Justin Timberlake sings on the album?s lead single ?Meltdown? alongside Gwen Stefani. The song will be released to radio on January 5th. A new Kanye West parody has been unleashed. It?s an obvious shot at the rapper?s latest album ?808s and Heartbreak? as the parody is titled ?Kevye West: 808s and Expiration Dates (Guac Lockdown). The video?s description reads ?Pitch auto-correction and a simple beat can make anything chart-worthy; even a freestyle about guacamole and expired milk.? I think the tape over the sunglasses is genius! If you?re lost on what this is about, try to find a video of Kanye performing ?Heartless? on SNL. Apparently, the pitch vocal auto-correctors weren?t functioning properly for that performance. Sure. It still doesn?t excuse him for giving a crappy performance.
