American Idol champ David Cook took a big bite out of his self-titled major label debut album at Hard Rock Café in Times Square last week. His CD dropped in stores last week and is expected to land in the top three during its first week in sales. The 25-year old singer and songwriter recently sat down with EW to talk about his music. When asked about the comparison between him and Chris Daughtry, he said “Opinions and perceptions, man — I didn’t let it get to me on the show, and I see no reason to let it get to me afterward. I just think this record is me, and if people want to compare it to Daughtry, awesome. He’s sold a ton of records. I just hope someday the coin will flip and somebody will compare somebody else to me.”
The Coldplay singer has recently given this answer to the press when asked what he cannot get while in America: “Laid. Oh and maybe a Toffee Crisp.” The singer also mentioned that he split his pants for the first time on stage during his American tour and explained why: “I split my trousers for the first time on stage recently. I aspire to ripping my trousers. It shows I am enjoying myself.” Of course he’s enjoying himself… and given his previous words, we would never think of correlating them and saying that it’s the real reason for which he had that gesture on stage.
Britney Spears has a new documentary coming out and I bet you that Kevin Federline is not going to like it one bit. Britney admits to the world that she married KFed for all the wrong reasons. The recovered pop star talked candidly about her marriage saying “I think I married for the wrong reasons. Instead of following my heart and doing something that made me really happy, I just did it for the idea of [marriage and] everything.” There’s no word from KFed on the matter but I doubt he’s going to come out with his own documentary to answer back.
After seeing steamy pictures of Rihanna and Justin Timberlake shooting the video for the Barbadian babe’s song ‘Rehab’, I can’t help but say ‘finally!’. The music video was just recently released. The video was shot last month in Vasquez Rocks Park, just outside of Los Angeles. JT and producer pal Timbaland wrote the song and also contributed backing vocals in the bridge. Anthony Mandler directed this Rihanna video. He has done so for the tenth time! And as usual, it is amazing! Hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. And his partnership with Rihanna as her director is working pretty damn well.
