American Idol champ David Cook took a big bite out of his self-titled major label debut album at Hard Rock Caf? in Times Square last week. His CD dropped in stores last week and is expected to land in the top three during its first week in sales. The 25-year old singer and songwriter recently sat down with EW to talk about his music. When asked about the comparison between him and Chris Daughtry, he said ?Opinions and perceptions, man ? I didn?t let it get to me on the show, and I see no reason to let it get to me afterward. I just think this record is me, and if people want to compare it to Daughtry, awesome. He?s sold a ton of records. I just hope someday the coin will flip and somebody will compare somebody else to me.?
The Coldplay singer has recently given this answer to the press when asked what he cannot get while in America: ?Laid. Oh and maybe a Toffee Crisp.” The singer also mentioned that he split his pants for the first time on stage during his American tour and explained why: “I split my trousers for the first time on stage recently. I aspire to ripping my trousers. It shows I am enjoying myself.” Of course he?s enjoying himself? and given his previous words, we would never think of correlating them and saying that it?s the real reason for which he had that gesture on stage.
Britney Spears has a new documentary coming out and I bet you that Kevin Federline is not going to like it one bit. Britney admits to the world that she married KFed for all the wrong reasons. The recovered pop star talked candidly about her marriage saying ?I think I married for the wrong reasons. Instead of following my heart and doing something that made me really happy, I just did it for the idea of [marriage and] everything.? There?s no word from KFed on the matter but I doubt he?s going to come out with his own documentary to answer back.
After seeing steamy pictures of Rihanna and Justin Timberlake shooting the video for the Barbadian babe?s song ?Rehab?, I can?t help but say ?finally!?. The music video was just recently released. The video was shot last month in Vasquez Rocks Park, just outside of Los Angeles. JT and producer pal Timbaland wrote the song and also contributed backing vocals in the bridge. Anthony Mandler directed this Rihanna video. He has done so for the tenth time! And as usual, it is amazing! Hey, if it ain?t broke, don?t fix it. And his partnership with Rihanna as her director is working pretty damn well.

Meet Hana Pestle — an eighteen year old singer/songwriter that has come a long way from her hometown of Billings, Montana. Hana moved to Los Angeles about a year ago to work on her debut album with Ben Moody, co-founder of Evanescence, who has also produced records for Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne. On top of the ten month recording process, Hana spent most of this year touring with an opening slot on the Blues Traveler, Live, Collective Soul Tour. She has since toured with the likes of Joshua Radin and Jon McLaughlin and is currently on the road with pop/pock band Ingram Hill.
The versatility of Hana’s vocals stands out on her current E.P with the intense single “These Two Hands” and a cover of Leonard Cohen?s classic “Hallelujah.” Hana will be able to tell more of her story on her full-length release due out next year.
Hana may be far away from home in a city she calls “much different yet wonderful,” but she explains, “I’m home wherever my guitar is.” Citing influences that range from Radiohead and Sarah McLachlan to Incubus, Feist and Jack Johnson, it is clear that Hana isn’t bound to any one genre.

Justin Timberlake is being sued by a busboy who claims that the former boy band member doesn?t treat employees at his Manhattan restaurant Southern Hospitality fairly claiming that the joint didn?t pay him a legal wage. Felipe Ramales alleges in federal lawsuit that he worked for the restaurant for about a year. The suit says that he and other staffers didn?t get their proper share of a gratuity charge the restaurant automatically collected from parties with 6 or more diners. Ramales also claimed that he worked more than 40 hours per week without getting overtime. A manager at the restaurant says the tip allegations are false and all staffers made well about the legal minimum wage.
It?s pretty obvious that Christina Aguilera has been borrowing looks from Lady Gaga ? from the hair to the makeup to the outfits. Even Christina?s music is starting to sound more like Gaga?s. Christina spoke about it for the first time last week and now, she?s dissing Gaga even more in another interview. Christina said that she just laughs off the comparisons and instead name drops her inspirations minus Gaga naming Sia and Goldfrapp as big contributors to her new look and sound. Also, Christina talks about being pop art inspired. Gaga previously mentioned that as well in previous interviews back in May and with the NY Post.
The movie might not even be in theaters yet but the soundtrack for the vampire movie ?Twilight? has snatched the top spot on the Billboard charts from rock icons AC/DC. The soundtrack has sold around 165,000 copies last week. 29% of which, or 48,000 were digital downloads. The soundtrack for the movie scored the second biggest digital download week for a soundtrack since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking album download sales in 2004. The biggest digital week honor goes to ?High School Musical 2? back in August 2007 when the soundtrack sold 62,000 downloads in a week. If the soundtrack is any indication, the movie ?Twilight? is going to be huge!
She?s been opening for other acts even though she?s a bigger hit than they are but now, Katy Perry has a chance to head out on a tour of her own. The international chart topper is set to embark on her first ever tour next year. The singer?s tour will kick off on January 23 at Showbox at the Market in Seattle, Washington and will wrap up on April 28 at Jannus Landing in St. Petersburg, Florida. Her four month tour will take her all over the US, Canada and even Europe. Just add a few dates in Asia and she would have had not just her first tour but her first ever world tour.
Guns N? Roses have just released a new song off their upcoming Chinese Democracy album. ?Better? is a melodic-rocker with infectious background vocals, sweeping guitar licks, and some of the hookiest melodies Axl Rose has woven together since the band?s early days.

?It?s great to go back out on a tour like this where the bands are all about returning rock to the forefront of music today,? says Vince Neil of M?tley Cr?e. ?On top of it, we get to introduce a new band who jumped the line to arenas through the Guitar Center: On Stage contest. Just like Ozzy gave us a chance and took us on tour at the start of our career, we?re looking forward to taking The Last Vegas on the road and giving them the same opportunity.?
Hinder front man Austin Winkler said, “M?tley Cr?e is a massive influence on us, and an inspiration on so many levels for what we do! Mick even played on the title track for our new album. It will be an honor and privilege for us to tour with one of the greatest rock bands ever! And we can’t wait to party our asses off with them!”
?We are so pumped to be a part of what I think will be the biggest and most bad ass tour of 2009. Three kick ass bands on one bill, not to mention how honored we are to play with one of the best rock n roll bands of all f#@%kn time, M?tley f#@%kn Cr?e,? said Tyler Connolly of Theory of a Deadman.

The All-American Rejects have just premiered the video for explosive single ?Gives You Hell? on Yahoo! Music. Directed by Marc Webb (Maroon 5, Fergie), the video was described by the band as a neighborly quarrel between two completely opposite households, the square versus the raucous rockers, both of which have front-man Tyson Ritter as the head of the house. The trials and tribulations between the Rockers and the Preps unfold as the video progresses with an unexpected ending.
For more Rejects fun, fans can now put their faces on Tyson, Nick, Chris and Mike at allamericanrejects.com/givesyouhell/! When The World Comes Down will be in stores December 16th.
