MTV2 have premiered the video for ?18 Days,? the new single from Saving Abel. The clip was directed by Travis Kopach (Panic At The Disco, Black Tide) and features the band performing on the USS Hornet. The San Francisco based naval carrier won 9 battle stars for her service in WWII.

Oklahoma hard-rockers Hinder are gearing up to release their Take it to the Limit album on November 4th. The band has been posting video pieces chronicling the entire recording process on a new widget. They?ve also included video bios on each member where fans can take a glimpse into a day in their life. The band?s debut album, Extreme Behavior has sold close to 3 million copies and their ?Lips of An Angel? single was inescapable on rock and pop radio.
One of the most highly anticipated albums in rock history, the long-awaited Chinese Democracy (Black Frog/Geffen Records) will be available globally on November 23 on CD and vinyl (accompanied by a free digital download of the tracks), and as a separate digital album.
Produced by Axl Rose and Caram Costanzo, Chinese Democracy includes 14 tracks. The title track and first single from the album, ?Chinese Democracy?, was released to radio at 5:00AM eastern time today. Big & Rich got in a real life battle of the bands as their lead singer allegedly punched another rocker in a hotel butt kicking. Cops were called to the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood early one morning after John Rich got into it with Jerry Montano, a former bassist of the rock band Danzig. It appears that someone got whupped real bad as paramedics responded to the scene not long after the cops arrived. One of the people involved was treated for a bloody nose but no one was brought to the hospital. Cops say that they?re investigating the incident but no arrests have been made as neither guy wanted to press charges against the other.
Nashville rockers SafetySuit are set to hit the road next month with Puddle of Mudd. Check out dates below to see if they?re coming to a city near you! Ahead of the MTV Video Music Awards, their supporters discuss the question with vigor, as to which band is actually the more incredible. There is talk of Tokio Hotel, the most successful German rock band, and the Jonas Brothers, currently America?s greatest pop band. At this year?s VMA awards on September 7th in L.A., they came together in the category ?Best Pop Video?, further stoking up the discussion from supporters of both bands. And the question on everybody?s lips ? does this translate to competition between the two bands themselves? The truth is there is nothing of the sort, quite the opposite. Tokio Hotel (who won the MTV VMA category ?Best New Artist?) and Jonas Brothers have one thing in common: while Tokio Hotel are currently superstars in Europe who are successfully capturing great attention and fans across the United States, the superstars from America, Jonas Brothers, have planned to conquer Europe. No wonder the guys had a lot of things to tell each other, when they met shortly before the MTV VMAs in New York. They got along great and shared a lot of experiences ? and for sure there will be more, next time they meet each other.
?Dancing with the Stars? dancer Julianne Hough and singer Jesse McCartney recently announced the nominees for the 2008 American Music Awards in Beverly Hills. Leading the pack with five nominations was songstress Alicia Keys. Other nominees included Chris Brown, the Jonas Brothers, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey and Coldplay. What, no Rihanna? No Katy Perry? Madonna sure knows how to put on a show as the Queen of Pop is breaking all sorts of records with her Sticky & Sweet Tour. She?s even decided to extend her South American tour and adding more shows by adding 3 more stops, 1 in Brazil and 2 in Argentina. According to Live Nation Artists CEO Arthur Fogel, the concert market in ?South America exploded in a fiery insanity? when they found out that Madonna was coming. Her tour will now have 58 shows, an estimated 2 million concertgoers, and will bring in around $276 million. That will make her tour the 6th largest paying tour ever with the least amount of shows.
The McCain campaign has been using a lot of songs without artists? permissions and they should have anticipated that someone is going to get mad at some point. They recently used the Foo Fighters? ?My Hero? for which the band was none too pleased about. The band said ?This isn?t the first time the McCain campaign has used a song without making any attempt to get approval or permission from the artist. It?s frustrating and infuriating that someone who claims to speak for the American people would repeatedly show such little respect for creativity and intellectual property. The saddest thing about this is that ?My Hero? was written as a celebration of the common man and his extraordinary potential. To have it appropriated without our knowledge and used in a manner that perverts the original sentiment of the lyric just tarnishes the song.? The Foo Fighters, along with Heart, Van Halen, John Mellencamp and Jackson Browne all want to have the campaign stop using their songs.

Eric Hutchinson, one of the latest artists to be featured in VH1’s high-profile “You Oughta Know” program, will kick off a headlining tour on November 7th. Charlotte Sometimes and Matt Hires will open on the tour, which will conclude December 13th at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom. The soulful singer-songwriter will precede his headlining gig by opening up for Jack?s Mannequin on a string of dates beginning October 14th. Sir Paul McCartney is releasing a new dance album in November under his alter ego, the Fireman. According to a new report, the inspiration, in a not so good way, for the album was his ex-wife Heather Mills. The album title itself, ?Electronic Arguments?, is a reference to texts and emails that went on between the two during their marriage breakdown. The first song of the album ?Nothing Too Much Just Out of Sight?, Paul sings ?You said you love me – but was it true? The last thing to do was to lie about me silently.? Another track called ?Two Magpies? is a reference to Heather and her sister Fiona who squeezed him for the $50 million settlement. Sources say that it was named such since magpies are known to have the habit of taking brightly-colored shiny trinkets and jewelery to make their nests with.
The music industry has officially gone to the gamers. According to RockGamer, in June, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith turned out to be the band?s biggest hit yet. In the game?s first week of sales, it generated more revenue than any Aerosmith album ever! To give you an idea, the band?s latest studio release ?Honkin? on Bobo? had roughly $2 million in sales on its first week while Guitar Hero: Aerosmith grossed roughly around $25 million. Who knew that playing a glorified keytar would turn out to be so popular? Then again, everyone dreams of becoming a huge rock star. Guitar Hero makes that dream possible if even in your own living room.
I?m not sure if anyone still cares about them but I?m posting this just in case. The Smashing Pumpkins are heading out for a 20th Anniversary tour. The tour will kick off on October 26 in Mountain View, California Shoreline Amphitheatre and will wrap up on December 3 in Los Angeles, California Gibson Amphitheatre. I don?t know if it was meant as cheesy as it is or it was just coincidental but their 20th anniversary tour sees the band making 20 performances. Most of the dates also see them making repeat performances at the same place the next day. The band will travel to California, New York, Ontario, Washington DC, Boston, Connecticut, Chicago and St. Louis for their tour.
Sources are saying that Christina Aguilera will be selling her new album ?Keeps Gettin? Better ? A Decade of Hits? exclusively at Target and Target.com on November 11. Pre-orders of the record began selling on September 30 at Target.com. As a special bonus to Target buyers, pre-orders of the CD were also couple with a free download of the singer?s new single ?Keeps Gettin? Better?. The album includes ten of her most popular hits as well as two new singles including ?Dynamite?. The singer has also re-recorded two classic songs, ?Genie in a Bottle? and ?Beautiful? for the album. The Jonas Brothers were recently spotted shooting their music video for the single ?Lovebug? in San Pedro, California. Nick, Joe and Kevin were also joined by Camilla Belle who makes an appearance in the video. A love interest perhaps? Check out their old school duds in this still shot. I wonder what the video?s theme is all about. This is also the set of t he video where they were spotted coming out of their wardrobe trailer covered by a blanket and umbrella to keep details under wraps. I guess part of it has been revealed.
Run DMC, Metallica and the Stooges are among the nine nominees up for induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In order to receive a nod, an act must have released its first single 25 years prior. This is the first year that Run DMC qualifies and if they get accepted, they will be the second rap act ever to be inducted as Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five was the first rap group inducted in 2007. The other nominees include Jeff Beck, singer Wanda Jackson, Little Anthony and the Imperials, War, Bobby Womack and disco R&B group Chic. Noticeably missing from the ballot were Stevie Ray Vaughan and Bon Jovi who both just became eligible. The five most voted nominees will be announced in January with the induction following in April.
