Goldfrapp Return, Give Up the Disco?

Goldfrapp updated its MySpace blog and website with news of the upcoming album The Seventh Tree, which Mute will release on February 25, 2008. The dynamic electronic duo describes its new music as ?gilded in the butterfly colors of an English surrealism shared from Lear to Lennon,? and the dreamy photo/typography collage on their homepage (not to mention the soothing background music) makes it pretty clear that they?re ready to take a break from the dance floor, for the time being, anyway. It?s about time, too ? as irresistible as Black Cherry and Supernature were, the glam-rock inspired shuffle beat Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory popularized with ?Train? and ?Ooh La La? has popped up almost everywhere else, even on Britney Spears? ?Ooh Ooh Baby.? A reinvention of Felt Mountain?s lavish soundscapes just might be the freshest thing Goldfrapp could do. February is too far away!

T.I. is Free

Legally embattled rapper TI is a free man once again. A federal judge released him on $3 million bail on Friday. $2 million in cash bond and $1 million in property. He?s not fully free though because TI must remain under house arrest until his trial on weapons charges.

A spokesman for the US Attorney?s Office has confirmed that a private monitoring company will reside at TI?s home and that the rapper will have to subject to drug, alcohol and weapons searches at their discretion. Magistrate Judge Alan Baverman was the one who ordered the 24 hour monitoring of TI and that TI is actually the one who?s supposed to pay for the monitoring service.

TI is only allowed to leave his home for medical appointments and court appearances.
